Telstra customers beware: there’s a new, and very convincing scam that could be hitting your inbox soon. Images obtained by 9NEWS show a legitimate-looking email bill sent to an address earlier this month with the usual company subject line, “Your new Telstra Bill is ready to view”.
The days of receiving annoying scam phone calls could soon be over, with a new government crackdown targeting overseas criminal organisations.

Left a message he is from IRS and my name is on some criminal internet list. Clearly a phishing/fraudulent call. Don't respond.

Called claiming that we were in criminal trouble from the IRS. It was a clear fake.

Called us threatening to be from the IRS and that we owed them money. Also stated we were having a warrant issued for us within 45 minutes.

Caller left recorded voice mail with number multiple times - clearly a nuisance and most likely unsafe. Do not reply.

Caller has heavy accent; claims my name is on IRS criminal list but he doesn't know my name even though he's the one that called me; asks for personal information -- he's PHISHING! I've reported the number to the FCC, IRS, and FBI.
